Hotel StarFish Jibacoa (Ex-Villa Trópico) is a small quiet resort located on Arroyo Bermejo Beach, Jibacoa, at the foot of a beautiful range of green mountains, on the north coast of Cuba that is only one hour drive from Havana or Varadero.
The property was opened in 1962 and has been remodeled on several occasions.This is a resort very frequented by locals.
Surrounded by mountains, it offers beautiful views in a peaceful environment and is a perfect place to get away from the hectic daily life and at the same time close to many places of interest.
It is also an ideal place to enjoy nature. There are several established hikes in the pine and palm covered cliffs, which invite fans to take guided walks. While the seabed is magnificent for snorkeling and diving, as there is a great variety of fish and the 3 km long reef is only 50 meters from the shore, reachable by pedal boats or swimming.
StarFish Jibacoa Hotel is composed of one building and a group of bungalows featuring 154 rooms in total.
It is not a modern or luxurious hotel, on the contrary it is rather modest and needs renovations and improvements, but it is very clean and cozy.
Gardens are nice and very well tended with many flowers and birds. Staff is friendly and the reviews about food are pretty good.
Tips: Bring one’s own snorkeling gear and aqua shoes.
