Playa Pesquero is an all-inclusive hotel in Holguin with more than 900 rooms which can accommodate over 2000 guests.
The resort is simply huge, something that can sometimes work against it, since many guests complaint about long distances, specially to the beach (electrical carts are available but may be insufficient, they take some time to arrive and cannot be reserved in advance).
The hotel is also very well sold by tour operators in Canada, and when the occupation is to the fullest, service can be affected.
This said, you will find a vast lobby in an Asian-style with fish ponds all around and a 1924 steam train standing outside, as a peculiar decorative detail. The rooms are decorated in Caribbean colors with sponge-washed walls, bright fabrics, styled bathrooms and a contemporary neoclassical chic. Rooms are spacious and clean in general. Grounds are well kept and secured by security guards 24/7.
The resort features a pretty and vast freeform pool and of course, there is the beach.
The area around the pool is lively in the afternoons and the disco opens its doors around 11 pm.
From the available excursions at the tourism desk, swimming with dolphins is really great but for a price.
In short: a lively, full hotel at its peak ; with friendly staff and lots of activities and fun.
