Plaza Dolores

A small but very central plaza in Santiago marked with a long history since its creation in the XVII century. Due to its proximity to the Church of Nuestra Señora de los Dolores it was initially used for religious purposes.

Throughout the course of the centuries it grew to be surrounded by a series of beautiful buildings that have been conveniently restored, and as a result is in the present day quite attractive for a visitor interested in beholding the architectonic values of the past.

An ideal spot to take a break from the torrid Santiago sun while sitting under the magnificent shade of the colorful flamboyants (Royal Poinciana) making up its tree-lined ornamental grounds.
