San Diego de los Baños is a small but once important spa town. It is located 120 km west of Havana and 60 km east of Pinar del Rio.

The spa waters of this spring were discovered in the 17th century and explored by Baron Alexander von Humboldt. The waters keep an almost permanent temperatures of 37 - 40 degrees C and brim with magnesium, sulfur, sulfates, and calcites, ideal soother for rheumatism, skin disorders and other ailments.

The present facility built here offers treatments from acupunture to massages and from stress or obesity to rheumatic conditions.
