Maria la Gorda is a beach and an international diving center in the Peninsula of Guanacabibes which is part of a beautiful biosphere reserve south of Pinar del Rio. Sport fishing can also be practiced here as well as nautical sports and ecological travel.

Maria la Gorda counts with 60 diving spots well recognized for the beauty and presence of its coral reefs. Diving takes place at depths of 15 - 35 meters just by the continental slope, a 2000 m wall where most of the Caribbean fauna concentrates.
