Museum commemorating the birth of Ignacio Agramont

In this house was born the most paradigmatic hero by far in all the region of Camagüey back in the days of the Cuban struggles for independence from Spain: Ignacio Agramonte y Loynaz, for which it was declared National Monument.

The building itself might prove appealing to the visitor given that it reunites all the Hispanic, Mudéjar (Moorish) and baroque hallmarks present in Cuban colonial architecture, along with influences from other styles like Neoclassical and Rococo.

The Museum house presents a XIX century setting, providing a sequential display of the era by way of the original furniture and decorative arts pieces. Also at hand is historical information detailing the efforts of Ignacio Agramonte during the First War of Independence.
