It is one of the favorite places of the city visitors due to the high degree of preservation that gather its colonial surroundings, which invite to photograph a good memory of their stay in the Cuban capital.

It houses in the surrounding buildings, a great many scientific and cultural institutions, like the Fototeca de Cuba, the Planetario, and the so called Cámara Oscura; a chamber of optical reflection that turns 360 degrees and projects a real time image of Havana at a 30 times magnification, in a 2 meters wide parabola situated in a totally dark room. This is undoubtedly, a wonderful introduction to Havana.
