A state-run gastronomic establishment that makes for a quaint eatery given that its décor comes in the purest style of the Spanish taverns of times bygone. Situated almost at the core of the historical city center, the site offers à la carte service of specialties comprising both Cuban and international cuisine, and stocks a wide variety of wines, over 25 kinds, in their wine cellar. Among the culinary delights it offers, the highlight is the house specialty: the Don Cayetano Surprise, pork filet larded with pork sausage and cooked in sauce. A very affordable place, where one can also enjoy live performances and recorded music as one samples the meals.
