Tomás Acea Cemetery

It has been classed as National Monument for the sheer amount of aesthetic values exhibited on the decoration of its funerary tombstones.

Located in the eastern part of the city, one gains access to the site by traversing a grand neoclassical pavilion flanked by 64 Doric columns in the manner of the Parthenon of Athens, that was erected in 1926.

The site owes its birth and history to Nicolás Acea de los Ríos, one of the wealthy benefactors of the city of Cienfuegos.
