Tulum National Park

It is located around the walled archaeological zone of Tulum and is the Protected Natural Area of ​​the Rivera Maya, with about 664 hectares that are distributed mainly along the coastal area from the north of the town of Tulum to the area called Casa Cenote .

In this natural park of scenic value, there are beautiful beaches, cenotes and underground rivers, mangroves and Mayan ruins, making it a very visited place by ecotourists and an ideal place for lovers of hiking, swimming, diving and snorkeling or simply enjoy a day of sun and sea.

Important animals inhabit the area such as anteaters, coatis, howler monkeys and spiders, armadillos and weasels, tepezcuinetles; some are endangered, such as hawksbill, leatherback and loggerhead turtles, which are protected by the Mexican Federal Government.

There is also a great variety of endemic plants and birds, the most frequent being parrots, aquatic species such as the pelican, the frigate bird; raptors such as the black hawk among many others.
