Founded in 1519, the Capital City of Cuba is the cultural, scientific, economic and political heart of the country, as well as the most cosmopolitan city and the most demanded destination in Cuba.

Born from the sea, with a passionate history that begins more than 500 years ago, the city of Havana hosts one fifth (2.2 million) of the population of Cuba and perhaps the finest collection of Spanish colonial buildings and hotels in the Americas.

At the heart of the city is enchanting Habana Vieja, the Old Havana, a living museum inhabited by about 60 000 people and containing baroque churches, convents, mansions and castles that still reign majestically over tree-lined squares and boulevards.

Gorgeous intimate hotels, museums, live music, bars, restaurants, paintings, craft works, old books and much more can be found along the streets framed by colonnade arcades.

An outstanding restoration labor has been made in Old Havana, and expands its benefits year after year, recovering buildings, squares and services block after block, creating parks and gardens, art galleries, restaurants, bars, office centers and many other places and amenities. “Stone by stone” seems to be the slogan of this perseverant and passionate project.

But this is not all; there is also a lot to explore in other sectors of the city: the beaches to the East, the Malecón sea walk, Vedado and Miramar districts (the most modern areas) and much more.

Colonial, modern, classic, eclectic, quiet, tumultuous, green, grey, glamorous, decaying…

On your vacation to Cuba, you will set foot one time in Havana and you can only succumb to its enigmatic allure. It is impossible to resist the city’s mysteries and contradictions.
