Residencial Tarará is composed of a group of villas of 1, 2, 3... up to 7 bedrooms located around a hill facing the Atlantic Ocean, only 15 to 20 minutes by car from Havana’s city center and a few steps from a very beautiful private beach.
Ideal for people looking for family and children hotels in Cuba, the place was conceived in the 1940’s as a residential neighborhood and has been used for many different purposes since then. Today it reopens its gates to touristic accommodation offering recently renovated villas with adequate bathrooms, partially equipped kitchens, new air conditionings in each room, cleaning services (included), and most have car porch. It’s necessary to say they feature no luxuries; in fact, décor and furniture are pretty basic.
Houses are all different; many are empty and waiting to be restored while a few families still live in some of them. There are two classifications: according to comfort they are defined as Standard and Plus (the latter featuring central air and ensuite bathroom in each room) and according to distance to the beach.
The place is very quiet and extremely safe, two qualities that make Residencial Tarará a good option for families with children or groups of friends travelling together. Not so good for party lovers since there isn't much to do for fun; there are only a couple of restaurants and cafeterias, 2 public swimming pools, a shop, a gas station, emergency medical services, and the Marina Internacional Tarará, offering boat rides, fishing, snorkeling and diving.
Because of the lack of things to do and because there are no transportation services in the residencial area perhaps the best if staying here would be to rent a car, which would allow to visit Havana's downtown and other nearby beaches.
This said, the prices aren’t high and if you are looking family and children hotels or accommodation. for privacy, peace and quiet next to a wonderful beach, this could be the place for you.
