Residencia Habana 612 is Habaguanex's (tourist company belonging to the Office of the Historian of Havana) newest hotel.
Open since December 2014 it’s nestled in an exquisitely renovated colonial building, located in the very heart of Old Havana, near one of its most beautiful squares: Plaza Vieja.
It’s a small (only 12 rooms distributed among 3 floors), intimate and stylishly decorated hotel. Rooms are simple, of minimal design as the rest of it, no luxuries but definitely comfortable, very clean and featuring good beds and spacious bathrooms with strong water pressure. Seven of them are interior rooms, while four have balconies overlooking the street, a feature making them more appealing but also noisier (Havana is not a quiet city).
Talking of noise…this would be the hotel’s main problem since soundproofing is what the rooms lack. One can hear sounds from the reception, restaurant or adjacent buildings.
Habana 612 also offers a lobby-bar and a breakfast room (breakfast is included and pretty adequate).
The optimal setting, within walking distance to every touristic site, together with the great ambiance and the personal service offered by the very attentive staff, are some of the hotel's best features.
