Hotel Labranda Cayo Santa María (formerly Lagunas del Este and Warwick Cayo Santa Maria before) rises in Cayo Santa Maria, one of the top 20 destinations in the world according to leading tour operators and one of the keys forming the archipelago Jardines del Rey (part of the UNESCO-protected Buenavista Biosphere Reserve).
Cayo Santa María is reached by way of a 50km causeway connecting the city of Caibarién, in the Cuban province of Villa Clara, with the 3 islands: Cayo Las Brujas, Cayo Ensenachos and Cayo Santa María.
The resort is located on the eastern area of the small island, next to Hotel Ocean Casa del Mar and not far from Valentina Perla Blanca.
Upon arrival you enter a large lobby which allows you a wonderful view of the beautifully landscaped pool.
The 800 rooms are spread among 16 three-story buildings that are surrounded by lush gardens and offer a contemporary design. The hotel is decorated in live colors and nicely furnished although it must be said needs improvement in many areas, especially the rooms.
It’s not a very big resort so one will get quickly to all bars, restaurants, and the beach which is also rather small but truly beautiful and intimate (since you can’t really see the other resorts nearby); of turquoise water and white sands.
The food is not its best virtue however the staff is welcoming and caring.
Kids have their own mini-club, playground and pool on top of mini-disco and other activities for children of all ages.
