Located on the north coast of Cayo Guillermo this is undoubtedly one of the most paradisiacal beaches in the cay chain, making it a favorite haunt for travelers. One can access it by requesting a spot in one of the customary excursions to the site organized by the majority of the hotels in teh cays.

The beach was named by Ernest Hemingway, the genial North American novelist, who was a regular at Guillermo Cay during his many fishing seasons in the decades of the 40s and 50s of the past century. “El Pilar” was the name of the fishing yacht property of the literature luminary.
