Cueva del Indio

This is just one of many caves ensconced in the valley of Viñales, but it happens to be the most visited, since it is far more accessible than the rest and because it is better conditioned for sightseeing, even if barely a kilometer of its extension is open for visitors. The journey through the bowels of the cavern begins on foot through an artificially lit stretch that displays the ample and rich collection of stalactites and stalagmites formed throughout the years. Shortly after, the tour shifts to course the waters of the San Vicente river by means of a small motorboat that navigates through the cave’s interior. The site is located a scarce five and a half kilometers from the town.
