Nuestra Señora de la Caridad Parish Church.

It is the second religious compound to be consecrated to the Virgen de la Caridad del Cobre, patroness saint of Cuba. It began its sacramental labors in 1727 and since then the building has undergone several overhauls in the interest of expanding its areas.

Possessing an eclectic style, its façade catches the eye of visitors thanks to its lofty bell tower where 4 antique bells still toll every day.

In 1846 it served as the scene for the baptism of Major General Serafín Sánchez Valdivia, who is considered the zone’s major leader in the wars of independence against Spanish colonialism.
