It is a peaceful, safe, clean, secluded resort away from the strident Havana that offers a varied choice of activities including salsa lessons, Spanish lessons, evening hikes, walking tours to a local farm, excursions to nearby Havana and Varadero and more!
Scuba diving and snorkeling are definitely among its best appeals. First scuba lesson is free of charge for beginners to get you started, and accredited divers get a free immersion. For snorkelers, only a few meters out the reef and you can spot beautiful fish in shallow waters. The diving center provides you with information of where to snorkel and count with a map to help you locate the best areas. Since non-motorized water navigation is included, many opt to take a pedal boat and snorkel farther out. It is an amazing beach to do snorkeling. Do not miss it! TIP: Bring your own snorkeling set as hotel seems to run out of them pretty often due to the high demand.
The hotel pool and beach grounds are very nice and generally provide sufficient loungers for everyone. The beach has plenty of shades from the trees. Beach bar provides convenient servings of both food and drinks. TIP: Bring a thermos cup. It will save you trips to the bar for more ice and larger drinks. The pool and Jacuzzis are open 24 hours a day!
Beach view rooms are the best and provide beautiful views but all spaces in the hotel are fairly quiet and decorously kept.
Buffet offers fair number of choices and food is tasty, well presented and well prepared. It is not air conditioned so it is really best to get a table out on the balcony if you are able to get one. They have theme nights and lobster night is quite popular.
Entertainment every night helps finding something to do in the middle of the quiet surroundings. It is usually at the pool. It can be fun but can also head to the piano bar with the air conditioner.
Most visitors concur that it is a terrific choice with a friendly staff and service. Overall, a very nice serene resort for a relaxing vacation we do not hesitate to recommend.
EXTRA TIP: Pack bug spray. It is the tropic!
