Overview:
Although a bit dated, Hotel Melia Cayo Coco is a gracious all-inclusive for adults only (18 + ) resort, nestled between its excellent location on Las Coloradas beach, a beautiful long beach with white sand that it shares only with its neighbor hotel Sol Cayo Coco.
The adult’s only resort features a natural salt water lagoon, boasting a very well achieved integration with the surrounding lush tropical landscaping. Green common areas of this resort are extremely beautiful due to the hardworking and perseverant gardeners.
Rooms are very adequate, especially if you choose the lagoon rooms which are quiet, spacious, and more comfortable. A plus to these rooms is that they offer either sunrise or sunset views from their balconies overlooking the salt water lagoon. The views are beautiful and well worth it.
Food is diverse and good at all times. Hotel offers the buffet plus a la carte restaurants which counts with quite good reviews from most hotel visitors.
There is a bar for every taste: the 24 hour lobby bar, the piano bar, the pool bar and the beach bar…
You will have a great holiday here and count with a very friendly and supportive staff. One gripe has to be mentioned and that would be that there are mosquitos due to the presence of the lagoon. Be sure to bring mosquito spray!
The Melia Cayo Coco is not a party place nor probably is it the best option for a young family. It is really best for couples looking for a very relaxing and quiet retreat.
