The Hotel Iberostar Laguna Azul 5 * was built in 2009, one of the pioneers of this prestigious hotel chain on Varadero beach, a really nice looking resort.

It is undoubtedly a large complex, surrounded by beautiful gardens, with 814 rooms, spacious and comfortable, distributed in 4-storey buildings, with terraces or balconies overlooking the pool, the gardens or the sea.

The hotel welcomes its visitors with its wonderful driveway and beautiful lobby.

Probably its greatest wealth is the privileged stretch of beach where it is located, long and wide, with fine white sand and crystal clear waters, with plenty of hammocks and numerous water sports.

Another of its great attractions is the complex of 4 swimming pools, located around an islet, ideal for relaxation, for participating in water games, or sunbathe while enjoying a drink or cocktail.

Throughout the years, this hotel, which was ranking for a long time in the clients' preference, started showing an urgent need for general maintenance and not so good reviews began to be felt; humidity in the rooms, little variety of food, old furniture, lack of water pressure ... reasons for which many disagree with the 5-star category, considering the standards of this renowned hotel chain.

However, recently work has been done on improvements to this hotel; room refurbish, new mattresses, central air conditioning fully repaired, improvement of exterior lighting and hot water service, among other maintenance work.

A gazebo has also been built.

That been said, it is worth noting that the hotel features numerous restaurants and bars, varied recreational activities, its entertainment staff receives positive comments and the SPA and gym offer a fascinating sea view.
