Located south of the Mayarí municipality in the La Mensura-Pilotos Natural Park, it is the highest waterfall on the island of Cuba located 546 meters above sea level. Its waters come from the Guayabo river with a spectacular view that can be enjoyed up close from the viewpoint of the same name.
The almost two-hour excursion allows access to the well-known Pozas de Rafael, where the visitor can bathe in authentic natural water formations. On this tour you can enjoy typical vegetation with a great variety of species of orchids, ferns and trees more than 20 meters tall and a fauna represented by the national bird, the tocororo along with the Nightingale, the Sparrowhawk and the Green Woodpecker, among others.
Thanks to all these natural attractions, El Salto del Guayabo is a fascinating visit for nature lovers. The site also has a restaurant serving Creole food.
